This tour was very interesting, educational and well put together. It was also fantastic to be able to enjoy it in an AIR CONDITIONED bus since it was ridiculously hot outside. David, our tour guide, was amazing. His knowledge of not just hurricane history but Galveston history was impressive. He even showed us “the hidden Seawall” and waited for us to go out and take a picture. The media presentation in the bus was very informative and I loved the old pictures from the 1900 hurricane. The Galveston Experience Company store was well stocked with snacks, drinks and unique items for souvenirs/gifts. I would highly recommend this tour!!

Driver David was very knowledgeable and had great stories about the history and neighborhoods we drove through. I would recommend this tour to everyone who visits the island! I learned so many interesting facts. Hurricane Hal’s narrative was fascinating and the old photos were outstanding! Thanks for an amazing tour of Galveston! Loved it!

I loved the tour!! I moved to Texas 7 years ago and have visited Galveston many times. A friend suggested I read, Isaac’s Storm about the meteorologist in charge during the Great Storm of 1900. I became interested in the history of Galveston and this tour was fantastic. Dr Hal Needham who is an expert on the Storm of 1900 as well as other hurricanes that followed, provides a wonderful picture of the times in 1900 and as they appear today. I was lucky that I was the only person to sign up today for the tour, which made it much more special. The tour takes you from the past to how it all appears today which is a wonderful history lesson for all. I highly recommend considering this tour to gain a perspective of the past and it’s affect of the changes that were made to better secure Galveston for future weather events. Thank you, Dr Hal! You were awesome!

It was a fantastic tour about the hurricanes that have hit Galveston. Tree scuptures were fun to see. David was awesome, loved his humor! Great tour for history and building of the seawall. Yes we would recommend this tour.

Awesome tour! Very interesting and informative, Driver Jim gives a great tour. We were fortunate to actually have Hurricane Hal on our tour. Highly recommend for islanders and visitors!

My daughter and I went on the Historic Hurricane Tour. Who would have ever dreamed all that happened in Galveston ! My daughter feels Galveston might be a great place to visit but rather dangerous place to live.
